Current Programs

Our current programs include The Spot After School Enrichment Program; The Spot Family Jam; The Spot Christmas Jam; The Spot Toy Drive; Christmas Gift Wrapping Parties; Women in Victory; Family, Pre-marital and Marital Mentoring; Volunteer Opportunities; Job Training and Job Placement, Christian-based counseling and Fundraisers. All of our programs are currently free and our goal is to keep them free and accessible.

The Spot After School Enrichment Program: K - 7th grades Monday to Friday 3pm - 6pm on regular school days (12pm - 6pm on early dismissal days); specialized academic focus to help prepare for everyday challenges; tutoring, games, outdoor activities, snacks and nutrition education provided; bus drop-off available; scholarships available; registration required.Fun Fridays are for students who have completed requirements of afterschool program.

The Spot Family Jam: monthly community event held on the first Saturday at The Spot Family Center and Jim LeGrone Park; everything is FREE including admission, hot meal and drinks; clothing and household items; entertainment; activities for all ages; extreme games (fear factor); prizes; life application message, community resource networking and groceries; must register by 7pm to participate.

The Spot Christmas Jam: held yearly on December 23 and December 24; celebrate the reason for the season with 2 days of FREE family fun including a special Christmas message of hope; hot meal and drinks; games; candy; prizes; popcorn; live music; groceries on 12/23; wrapped presents on 12/24; must register before 7pm to participate.

The Spot Toy Drive: held yearly from November through December; toy drop-off bins at local businesses collect donations of new toys and gifts for distribution at the annual The Spot Christmas Jam.

Christmas Gift Wrapping Parties: held on three evenings in December at various locations; wrap Christmas gifts for needy children and families; enjoy festive Christmas music and refreshments.

Healing Night: as scheduled; join The Spot Family Center Team for a night of God's healing power; Jesus, signs, wonders and miracles; come expecting, come to receive, come to learn; break addictions, restore faith, renew spirit, receive peace, find direction, gain confidence in the Lord, worship, strengthen your calling, receive physical healing. In order to change the direction of your life, you must be willing to go down a road you have never traveled.

Women in Victory: monthly on the last Tuesday; Bible study support group for women of all ages, backgrounds and needs seeking God's victory in their lives; learn about God's love, the truth of the word of God and freedom in Christ; boot camp training to learn how to fight battles of self talk, self image, confidence and much more.

Praise and Worship: as scheduled; for those seeking a place of true and pure worship with no time limits and freedom in God's spirit. You are welcome to come and go as your schedule allows.

Family, Pre-Marital and Marital Mentoring: scheduled on an as needed basis throughout the year; topics include marriage, parenting, budgeting, health wellness, childhood obesity, prenatal and breastfeeding instruction.

Volunteer Opportunities: available for those with a heart to serve including court-appointed community service credits and community service hours for educational credit.

Job Training and Job Placement: through Angels Touch Cleaning Service which is owned and operated by The Spot Family Center.

Christian-based counseling: non medical counseling; Bible based counsel; practical life skills and training.

Fundraisers: throughout the year including Silent Auction Fundraiser and festivals

New Programs

Our new programs include The Spot Step Up Program, Middle and High School Tutoring and Scheduled School Break Programs.

The Spot Step Up Program: weekly training program offers courses such as money management, resume creation, interview preparation, work ethics, computer basics, child discipline strategies, keys to a strong marriage and volunteering. During the initial evaluation, we offer free clothing and groceries. Each additional visit requires a training class after which the participant is offered additional groceries, toiletries, diapers and clothing. A free meal is provided with each visit.

Middle and High School Tutoring: available with evening classes customized to individual student needs; led by a current high school and college teacher in Citrus County assisted by several volunteers and college student educators.

Scheduled School Break Programs: provide structured educational programs, tutoring, arts and crafts, recreational activities, snacks/lunch and nutrition education.
